Events are core to how we build Cursor, and the Brand Events Team is the center of excellence of Cursor events and experiences. Our events bring company priorities to life through in-person and virtual experiences that inspire builders, earn customer trust, strengthen our internal culture, and shape how the world thinks about building with AI agents.

About the role

As an Event Manager, you will be responsible for end-to-end ownership of hosted events, from strategy and concept through onsite execution and production. You’ll sit on the Brand Events team, and you’ll have a team of peers to partner with, learn from, and build together. Each Event Manager drives a specific domain, goes deep on your vertical, and is the trusted partner for your stakeholders within that vertical.

This role focuses on marketing and conferences. You’ll work closely with Marketing, Sales, Field Engineering, and DevRel to expand Cursor’s reach, build relationships with builders, and drive enterprise awareness and product attach. You'll build new event programs from scratch and help scale community-driven experiences worldwide.

What you'll do

  • You will report to the Events Lead and be one of the founding members of the Brand Events Team.

  • Help define and build what industry-leading events look like at Cursor — setting standards and creating a playbook that scales.

  • End-to-end event ownership, including event strategy, concept, agenda, attendee journey, venue selection, vendor management, run-of-show, staffing, budgets, timelines, retros, and outcome tracking.

  • Define goals, target audiences, and success criteria for each event — then track outcomes and iterate to improve signal and experience.

  • Coordinate cross-functionally with business owners, BrandComms, Recruiting, Ops, IT, Physical Security, and Facilities.

  • Be on the ground for key moments, ensuring every detail meets a high standard of quality.

  • Marketing & Conferences vertical

    • Partner with Startup, Community, Developer, and Marketing teams to build out the Marketing Events program.

    • Drive the creation of our first Enterprise Events Program, designing high-impact experiences that deepen relationships with enterprise prospects and customers.

    • Build out a global roadshow of Developer Community events to scale community programs in key markets and build partnerships with local Cursor Ambassadors.

    • Partner with Revenue Marketing & Field Events to uplevel the brand impact of revenue-driving programs.

    • Develop scalable frameworks for co-hosted and partner events that extend Cursor's reach across the developer ecosystem.

You may be a fit if

  • You have 8+ years of experience running professional events

  • Comfortable owning $2M+ event program budgets

  • You have experience with startup or enterprise marketing events, conference programs, or developer events

  • You’re comfortable working in ambiguity and have experience building event programs and owning events in fast-paced environments, ideally in tech

  • You care deeply about details and craft, and notice things others don’t

  • You’re highly operational and can manage multiple complex workstreams, managing agency and production partners.

  • You have strong taste and judgment about what makes an experience feel exceptional

  • You thrive in an in-person environment and are energized to be closely embedded with the team

This is an in-office position based in San Francisco, with 30%+ domestic and international travel.

Salary is commensurate with experience and will range between $220K and $240K.
